Liggett Knight Gala Raises Nearly $450,000 for school initiatives

University Liggett School’s annual auction, Liggett Knight, raised $450,000 to support academic initiatives, building improvements, athletic equipment and more.

The April 19 event, held at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, included live, silent and fishbowl auctions as well as a special paddle raise — which raised $150,000 for school initiatives. Our live and silent auctions brought in a total of $120,000. Liggett Knight sponsorships brought in $105,000. Our faculty and staff who offered up unique items and experiences that raised more than $24,000!

Cressie Boggs, ULS’s director of development and alumni relations, extends heartfelt gratitude to Alda and Daniel Stahl ‘01, our esteemed Liggett Knight co-chairs, as well as to our dedicated volunteers whose tireless efforts and guidance ensured the success of Liggett Knight.

“We also extend our appreciation to the generous bidders, donors, and sponsors whose support enriched the experience of Liggett Knight 2024, making it an unforgettable event,” she said.

Since its inception, Liggett Knight has raised more than $5.1 million for school initiatives.

Popular live auction items included a four-course dining experience from 405 Hospitality Group; a Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day experience and a Sara Weinstock Lucia Collection diamond and rose gold bracelet from Ahee Jewelers.

Liggett parents, faculty and staff donated items for the auction, which moved to the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club in 2023.
