Middle School Sports
Middle School athletics at University Liggett School are focused on development and positivity.
Middle School sports are optional, yet encouraged for all students. Many students have the opportunity to play a sport for the first time, while others are able to play a sport they may have experience with outside of school, but with their classmates. Similar to our Upper School athletics program, there are no cuts and everyone has the opportunity to be involved.
- In the fall, middle school athletic offerings include boys’ and girls’ cross country, field hockey, volleyball, boys’ soccer, and boys’ tennis. The season runs from the beginning of the school year through the end of October.
- In the winter, basketball is the only offering and participation is high. Roughly 60 total boys and girls participate from late November through the end of February, on both varsity and JV teams.
- In the spring, the middle school offerings include baseball (varsity and JV), lacrosse, girls’ soccer, and girls’ tennis, and a 6th grade developmental basketball program in conjunction with the Grosse Pointe Public middle schools.
