University Liggett School to present “A Piece of My Heart”

University Liggett School’s Liggett Players will present the drama “A Piece of My Heart,” November 10-13.

Based on the oral histories of six women “A Piece of My Heart” is the powerful story of women who were deeply impacted by their experiences in Vietnam. The play portrays each woman before, during and after her tour in the war-torn nation and ends as each leaves a personal token at the memorial wall in Washington, D.C.

Leading the cast are senior Angelina Randazzo, Clinton Twp.; juniors Olivia Johnson, Detroit, and Bea Reilly, Detroit; and sophomores Alexa Kalyvas, Grosse Pointe Woods and Addison Swegles, Grosse Pointe Farms. Rounding out the cast are freshmen Teresa Romanelli, Grosse Pointe and KateLynn Johnson, Detroit.

“This is a moving story about the long-lasting impact of war, but more importantly it is truth told by those often forgotten, the women who served so bravely," said Phill Moss Creative & Performing Arts Department Chair.

Tickets for the show are $8. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. November 10-12 and at 2 p.m. on November 13. Tickets are on sale now at seatyourself.biz
