University Liggett School Announces Meghan Stott as New Assistant Head of School and Head of Lower School
University Liggett School is pleased to announce the appointment of Meghan Stott as the new Assistant Head of School and Head of Lower School. Following a national search, Stott was selected for her outstanding leadership and commitment to educational excellence. She will officially join the ULS community in July.

Stott is an accomplished educational leader who currently serves as the Head of Lower School at Roeper School in Bloomfield Hills, MI. During her tenure at Roeper, she led strategic hiring initiatives, developed an innovative faculty development model, and enhanced community engagement through parent education programs. Stott also implemented impactful curriculum initiatives, including Singapore Math, a school-wide Responsive Classroom approach, and the Science of Reading methodology through targeted Orton-Gillingham training.
Before her role at Roeper, Stott spent 15 years as a Lower School science teacher and served as the Coordinator for Lower School Science (K-5) at Friends Academy in Locust Valley, NY. She also held the position of Dean of Students from 2019 to 2021. Her educational journey began internationally, teaching English in Japan, Korea, and Slovakia, where she gained a deep appreciation for global education.
Stott holds a Master of Science in K-8 Science Education from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Forest Ecology and Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
