ULS Alumnus Dr. Leython Williams ‘03 hired to head athletic department

We are pleased to announce that we’ve hired ULS alumnus, ULS Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame inductee and health and wellness expert Dr. Leython Williams, PT, DPT, CMTPT as Assistant Head of School for Athletics and Ancillary Programs

As a three-sport ULS student-athlete Williams has always had physical activity at his core. He attended Central Michigan University on a full scholarship, playing four years of football and winning a MAC Championship in his senior season.

“My experience as a Division I athlete and my understanding of the Liggett community as a Liggett alum will help me guide our athletics department and give ULS student-athletes the opportunity to develop teamwork, and academic curiosity, and self-discipline through athletics,” Williams said. “Athletics are a critical part of the education continuum that our students will navigate during their Liggett journey and I’m excited to be a part of that.”

After graduating with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science near Chicago, Williams joined Athletico Physical Therapy. He returned to Michigan to take on the role of Facility Manager/Physical Therapist at Athletico in Royal Oak.
