Four Week Parent Annual Fund Campaign

Blue envelope website

The 2022 Parent Annual Fund Campaign ran from September 8, 2022, to October 6, 2022. We ask that each family help us fill the blue envelope with a gift that is right for them. This year we reached 94% parent participation, please help us reach 100% with your gift or pledge today!

Gifts to the Annual Fund have an immediate and direct impact on our students and help create an environment that nurtures our learners as they start a lifelong journey of discovery. Annual Fund gifts allow us to make upgrades to our classrooms, technology, and athletic facilities and support field trips, arts, music, and extracurricular activities. Your generosity ensures that we can continue our mission of advancing the passions of every student at University Liggett School.

Thank you for your support!

Annual Fund Frequently Asked Questions

A: The Annual Fund is a donor-supported, unrestricted fund that directly supports the yearly operating budget, including upgrades to classrooms, technology, athletic facilities, field trips, arts, music, and extracurricular activities. This invaluable resource also helps pay for books in the library; soccer balls, hockey pucks, and baseball bats; a favorite teacher's salary; paint brushes, sheet music and pottery clay; Petri dishes in the chemistry lab, and microscopes for biology; hands-on learning trips; and much, much more.

A: The Annual Fund is a critical resource for operating the school. Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a ULS education. Like other independent schools, ULS relies on unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund to help meet yearly operating expenses.

A: We ask for and receive gifts from current and alumni families, alumni, current and former faculty and staff, current and former trustees, and friends of the school. Each year we receive 100% participation from our trustees, faculty, and staff members. Donations from our alumni make up the largest amount of dollars raised.  That means that there is larger community – people whom you’ve never met – who are helping to underwrite the cost of the student’s education.

A: You may feel that if you can only make a small gift to the Fund, it does not make much difference whether you participate. Quite to the contrary, the mere act of participation has great consequences. By making even a modest gift, your participation will help achieve a much greater result. Your participation is valuable as a signal to others who are considering investing. Major donors, corporations and foundations considering a contribution look carefully and gauge their giving on the level of support from the school’s community. High participation levels from parents and alumni demonstrate a commitment to University Liggett School and its future well-being.

A: Gifts of all sizes combine to sustain the full ULS experience. Given the importance of a robust annual fund to the success of the school, and the importance of that success in the lives of our students, we hope members of the community can make as generous and meaningful a contribution as possible.

A. Yes. Our fiscal year ends on June 30. Annual Fund gift pledges can be made now and fulfilled in their entirety or in installments by that date.

A: Yes. Any philanthropic gift to ULS, a 501(c) (3) non-profit, is eligible for a tax deduction. Please speak with a tax advisor if you have questions.
